Penedes, the wine region in the northeast of Spain, is known for its Cava wines. Papet del Mas is located in the charming town of Guardiola de Font Rubi. Papet is the Catalan diminutive of Josep. Mas means country house. Josep Suriol is the grandson of the founder and focuses strongly on export. Quality and appearance at an acceptable price is his motto. The Cava’s therefore have the quality denominación de origen and are produced according to the method of fermentation in the bottle (método tradicional). Like Champagne, but with its own character due to the local grapes. Especially the Xarel-lo produces a wine with a powerful aroma. Good acids. For lovers of Brut Champagne, this is a very affordable alternative.
