Description

We are proud to announce this domain: Bodegas Carramimbre. Indeed, we had been looking for a long time for a good producer who could supply both Ribera del Duero and Rueda. We searched several bodegas in spring 2019. At international fairs in Paris and Düsseldorf, the search continued. And after our tasting panel had tasted wines from various houses, Bodegas Carramimbre came out as the ‘winner’.

Bodegas Carramimbre is part of the El Pingón estate, just outside Peñafiel in the province of Valladolid. It was founded in 1997 by a group of families with a long history in the vineyards of Ribera del Duero. The estate now has more than 50 hectares of its own vineyards.

The estate has invested heavily in recent years and now owns the most modern, stainless steel fermentation vats and tanks. In the cellar they work with oak barrels, mainly from France.

Meanwhile, the domain has built up quite a reputation and can regularly be found in the wine guides of, among others, Peñin and Robert Parker. In addition, they have won many national and international awards.

This is the Roble: 90% Tempranillo, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Juicy and full-fruited wine, soft and full of flavour. Short wood maturation and therefore with a hint of vanilla in the aroma, complemented by some nice spices (cinnamon!). Young in character, but because of the soft and supple tannins it can already be drunk now.
