Ripasso literally means “to pass again”. This is an old process, in which a normal Valpolicella wine is passed over the pressed peels of an Amarone. The wine absorbs substances such as glycerine and aromas from these peels, giving it a deep aroma and a powerful taste. A wine with an intense dark purple colour. The nose is intense with a smell of ripe cherries and plums. Very full-bodied and beautifully balanced, with hints of plums, vanilla, spices and an elegant touch of wood. Ending in a beautiful aftertaste.
