Description

Bodegas Carramimbre – Spain

We are proud to announce this domain, own import: Bodegas Carramimbre. We were looking for a long time for a good producer who could supply both Ribera del Duero and Rueda and this domain has them both!

Bodegas Carramimbre is part of the El Pingón estate, just outside Peñafiel, in the province of Valladolid. It was founded in 1997 by a group of families with a long history in the vineyards of Ribera del Duero. The estate now has more than 50 hectares of its own vineyards.

The estate has invested heavily in recent years and now owns the most modern, stainless steel fermentation vats and tanks. In the cellar they work with oak barrels, mainly from France. Meanwhile, the domain has built up quite a reputation and can regularly be found in the wine guides of, among others, Peñin and Robert Parker. In addition, they have won many national and international awards.

Verdejo, Rueda: This Rueda is made from 100% Verdejo, the grape of the region. Aromatic: floral and exotic fruit in aroma. Soft fruitiness and nice freshness in the taste. Long and even a bit buttery in the aftertaste. A real spring wine. Delicious as an aperitif or a drink, with a fresh salad and with almost everything from the sea. Special tip: mussel wine!

Roble – Ribera del Duero: This is the Roble, and it has matured for about 3 months in oak barrels. Juicy and full-fruited wine, soft and full of flavour. Short wood maturation and therefore with a hint of vanilla in the aroma, complemented by some nice spices (cinnamon!). Young in character, but because of the soft and supple tannins it can already be drunk now.
